Tourism Rossland and RED Mountain Resort present inaugural music event, Between the Peaks
Tourism Rossland welcomes visitors to the inaugural Between the Peaks Music Festival taking place on September 15 to 16 at the base of world-renowned ski destination RED Mountain Resort. The event is dedicated to celebrating top-notch music and art by bringing together internationally acclaimed artists. The music festival will be headlined by the award-winning Canadian band, The Strumbellas. In addition to incredible live music, the event will feature numerous local food and drink vendors and promise a family-friendly experience.
Andras Lukacs, executive director of Tourism Rossland, is thrilled to be a presenting sponsor of the event. “By bringing together incredible music acts amidst our stunning mountain backdrop, this festival will not only be a celebration of music but also a catalyst for inspiring guests to discover the hidden gems, adventure, and warm hospitality that make Rossland an exceptional destination."
The festival headliners, The Strumbellas, have won and been nominated for nearly 20 music awards, including winner of numerous Juno Awards including Single of the Year; Songwriter of the Year; Roots and Traditional Album of the Year; and Best New Rock/Alternative Rock Artist. Featuring a diverse roster of performers, additional Canadian artists include Yukon Blonde, The Sadies, and Jesse Roper. Early-bird festival passes sold out in under two hours, and the organizers hope it will become an annual local music event for Canada's unofficial mountain biking capital.
Located in the Kootenay Rockies region of B.C., Rossland offers over 200 km of maintained biking and hiking trails – including the Seven Summits Trail, a single-track traverse acknowledged as an Epic trail by the International Mountain Biking Association. Rossland also offers a robust culinary scene, and unforgettable outdoor activities including downhill mountain biking, hiking and more.
“We have always known that we had an incredible natural amphitheatre at the base of RED Mountain,” said Howard Katkov, CEO of RED Mountain Resort. “This amazing backdrop sets the perfect stage for our first multi-day music festival at the base area nestled between Red and Granite peaks. And as summer gives way to fall, it will be truly awe-inspiring.”
Single-day tickets and the full lineup were released on June 6 at 9:00 a.m. PST. Limited two-day passes are currently available online and include access to the festival and parking. Kids seven and under are free. For more information on the festival's lineup and to purchase tickets, visit http://tourismrossland.com/event/peaks-mountain-music-festival.
