One-of-a-kind London Drugs Shopping Experience added to Shawnessy Village Shopping Centre
This week, London Drugs officially opened its ninth Calgary area location in the Shawnessy Village Shopping Centre, signalling the brand’s confidence in local consumer’s desire for physical store locations and the value of an in-store shopping experience.
Located near the 162nd Ave entrance of the shopping center and the SB Somerset-Bridlewood CTrain Station, the new store is a convenient stop for customers residing or travelling and commuting through the Southeast. It will feature a full-service pharmacy, as well as a large TECH department with the only Apple Authorized Service Providers in the area. London Drugs provides patients and customers with the ability to take control of their personal health through the Connected Wellness program, which combines health and technology, and empowers people to manage their own health. By offering a wide array of smart tech to help track everything from heart rate, blood sugar levels, blood pressure, sleep quality, physical activity and more, patients can work directly with pharmacists and the tech team to help find the best products and habits that will ensure a healthier quality of life.
As part of its ongoing commitment to building healthier and stronger communities, London Drugs is pleased to support the Calgary Women in Need Society, with a donation as the grand opening charity of choice – an organization which helps bring basic needs resources to women and their families.
“We are so excited to be a new member of the Shawnessy Village Shopping Center,” says Clint Mahlman, President and COO. “We look forward to becoming a location that many Calgarians visit, knowing they can trust our extensive and curated assortment to help them save time and stops en route to their destination. This, along with our dedication to being a patient-first pharmacy and prioritizing wellness and community, is why so many Canadians rely on London Drugs across Western Canada.”
It is expected this new location will become a staple for Calgarians for the consistent product variety and unique services that London Drugs is long known. Customers new to London Drugs are often surprised at the variety of products and services that can be found at each location, and with their new and improved LDExtras program, customers have the freedom to choose their own rewards. LDExtras members can claim in-store vouchers, discounts on services, or even donate them to a London Drugs charity partner.
Year-round, London Drugs is also proud to show dedication to community efforts and sustainability. The Shawnessy location features a full recycling centre on-site, to ensure customers can keep sustainability in mind, with recycling opportunities for products such as soft plastics, Styrofoam, electronics, appliances, batteries, lightbulbs, and more. From Veganuary in January with an emphasis on plant-based products, to a proud partnership with Magnusmode providing digital guides for in-store activities to help those living with cognitive disabilities, there is no shortage of in-store supports and activations focused on customers' needs and priorities throughout the year. Each Holiday season, for example, London Drugs invites customers to help lift the spirits of seniors with the Stocking Stuffers for Seniors initiative, by donating gifts requested by seniors and care facilities. Since 2015, London Drugs and participating customers, have helped bring holiday joy to over 60,000 seniors.
With customer-focused care and community at the heart of London Drugs, this one-of-a-kind shopping experience now in Shawnessy highlights why the 100 percent Canadian-owned retail pharmacy chain is beloved across Western Canada.
